Offshore Crane Operator – Stage 1
Objective
The Stage 1 Offshore Crane Operator course aims to give participants with minimal or no experience the fundamentals to work with and or around offshore cranes in a safe and efficient manner.

Career Opportunities/Pathways
Successful completion of this course will allow participants to perform supervised deck lifts on offshore facilities. Further practical experience may lead to attaining the pre-requisites for Offshore Crane Operator – Stage 2.

Course Pre-requisites
No experience required.
Practical Assessment
The participant will be required to perform a range of exercises in varying weather conditions in the offshore crane simulator.
Theory Assessment
Crane operators will be required to successfully complete a theory assessment before being deemed competent.
Language, Literacy and Numeracy Requirements
This assessment requires the ability to read and interpret typical product specifications, job sheets, procedures, material labels and safety information as provided to operators. Writing is required to the level of completing workplace forms. Numeracy is required to calculate loads and estimate balance points for slinging. All assessment activities will be conducted in English.

Day 1 – 8:30am to 4:30pm
Day 2 – 8:30am to 4:30pm
Day 3 – 8:30am to 4:30pm
Day 4 – 8:30am to 4:30pm
Day 5 – 8:30am to 3:30pm

Course Fee and Additional Service Costs
$5,570.00 + GST. This course fee includes morning tea and lunch at the training centre.
