Dynamic Positioning Verification of Competency

Objective

The course is designed to provide an insight into Dynamic Positioning (DP). It outlines DP system components and the capabilities of DP equipped vessels. Course participants will become aware of the DP system’s individual elements and their practical use, as well as the effects of system failures and the concept of redundancy. The course follows the structure outlined in IMCA M 117 Rev.2.

The course will also provide an insight into key guidelines and documentation affecting DP operations. The combination of these elements will enable participants to best utilise DP equipped vessels and understand their limitations.

Participants

The course is aimed at offshore project staff employed in project design and installation engineering. The course would also be beneficial for shore-based management of offshore vessel operating/managing companies including HR, Operations and Technical Managers. Also, those members of crew who are wanting to comply with IMCA/ Company guidance in relation to their role on board for example Dive Supervisors, Company Men, Rig Managers, etc. The course meets the requirements of IMCA M 117 Rev.2 (September 2016)
